Privacy policy

Examitude ("we") operates the TEF Canada and TCF Canada preparation platform available at examitude.com and app.examitude.com. This policy explains what data we process, why, for how long, and what your rights are. Our candidates live in many countries: the principles below apply to everyone, wherever you are.

Data controller

Examitude, a business corporation (société par actions), [TO COMPLETE: registered address].

For any question or request about your data (access, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent): contact@examitude.com. We answer within 30 days.

What we collect

• Account: name, email, password (hashed), language, target exam, CLB goal, optional affiliate code.
• Practice: answers to questions, scores and CLB estimates, writing papers and their corrections.
• Voice recordings: the audio of your speaking tasks, its transcript and its correction. These are sensitive personal data by nature: see the retention period below.
• Payment: amounts, dates and statuses of your orders. Your card number never reaches our servers: payment is processed by Stripe.
• Technical: security logs (IP address, sign-in timestamps) and application errors without personal content.

We use no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics.

Why

• To provide the service: correct your papers and recordings, compute your progress, give you access to what you bought (performance of the contract).
• To write to you about your account: email verification, password reset, receipts (performance of the contract).
• To secure the platform: sign-in throttling, two-step verification (legitimate interest).
• To track the affiliate and promo codes you choose to use (performance of the contract).

Who processes data on our behalf

For how long

• Voice recordings and transcripts: 90 days after upload, then automatic deletion. You can delete them earlier, at any time, from the correction page. Your marks and advice remain.
• Account and practice: as long as the account exists.
• Orders and credit ledger: 7 years, anonymized after account deletion, for accounting obligations.
• Security logs: 30 days.

Your rights, inside the product

From your profile, without writing to us:

• Export all your data as JSON.
• Delete your account: your credentials, papers, recordings and transcripts are erased for good; only orders are kept, anonymized, for the legal period.
• Delete a specific voice recording from its correction page.

For any other request, write to the address above. Depending on where you live, you may also contact your data protection authority.

Security

Hashed passwords, session cookies unreadable by JavaScript, mandatory two-step verification for our team, audio files served through signed expiring links, encrypted backups.

Changes

Any substantial change is announced in your area before it takes effect.
