Mock oral exam with a certified examiner

Forty minutes by video call, in the real format of the test. The examiner asks the questions, follows up, then fills in the official grid. You receive the assessment criterion by criterion.

$35 per session

  • 40 minutes
  • By video call
  • One reschedule possible

Why a human

Assisted correction transcribes and assesses your recording, but you are alone with the subject. In the exam, you get interrupted, prompted, asked to clarify. That interaction is what a synthetic voice cannot simulate, and it is what costs points.

A certified assessor in practice

Our teaching partner teaches and assesses within the Alliance française network. That qualification can be checked; we do not display a pass rate we cannot prove.

How it works

  1. 1

    Choose a slot

Slots are opened by the examiner, at least two hours ahead. Seats are limited by design: one examiner, one candidate.

  2. 2

    Pay for the session

Pay per act, by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The slot is held for you for thirty minutes while you pay; the video link appears in your area as soon as the payment is confirmed.

  3. 3

    Take the test

The speaking tasks of your exam, TEF or TCF, in order and with the real timings. The examiner runs the interview as on exam day.

  4. 4

    Receive the assessment

The examiner fills in the official grid, criterion by criterion, with comments. The assessment lands in your area like a correction and counts in your progress.

What you receive

  • A mark per official criterion, on the same grid as the assisted correction
  • The examiner's comments, task by task
  • A confirmation email with the date, time and video link
  • The assessment in your history and in your progress report

The rules, in black and white

  1. One reschedule possible, once only, at least 24 hours before the start, to a free slot.
  2. After that deadline the session is due: the examiner has set that time aside for you.
  3. If the payment does not go through within thirty minutes, the slot is released for another candidate.
  4. A camera, a microphone and a stable connection are required. The session takes place on the video tool shown in your area.

Questions about the mock oral exam

How does the mock oral exam with an examiner work?

You choose a slot, pay for the session, and the video link appears in your area. On the day, the examiner runs the exam tasks for forty minutes, then fills in the official grid; you receive the assessment like a correction. One reschedule is possible, at least 24 hours before.

Do I need an active access to book a mock oral exam?

No. The session is paid per act, with or without an access. An account is enough: that is where you will see the video link and, afterwards, the examiner's assessment.

Is the mock oral exam available for both TEF and TCF?

Yes. Each slot is opened for one exam or for both; you see the ones that match the exam you are preparing, and the tasks are those of its speaking test.

Which devices can I practise on?

Computer, tablet and phone, in a recent browser. For speaking, a microphone is enough; for the mock exam with an examiner you also need a camera and a stable connection.
